You are a wonderful teacher, and as parents, we realize that we don’t have exquisite teaching qualities like yours. Thank you for taking good care of our child.

To Cikgu Saw,

I personally thinks you are great teacher because you have the credentials, knowledge, critical thinking, and all other faculties of intelligence.

Apart from that, you are kind. You shows kindness to students and parents. You are positive. Being a positive teacher is even harder when we’re always met with problems with very limited solutions. However, you have have a tremendous positive impact on the students and everyone around because you always look to make things better and improve things inside and outside of the classroom.

You inspire my children to be a better student, and even a better person. You have uncovers hidden treasures, possibilities, and magic right before everyone’s eyes. Thank you for all the teachings and guidance.. we are deeply grateful for everything you have done.

I hope someday you may be able to read this, it has been 10 years since you last taught my children. I am sincerely grateful and thankful because my children are safeguarded from all of life’s negative influences because teachers like you shower your love in a ton and not just ounces. Thanks.

Thank you. You have made a great difference for all of my children. Because you care so much about them, you have directed them to trust themselves in all that they do and to become all that they dream. To me, you have always been a great teacher because you can think like a student, look like a parent and behave like a boss.

You are the boss to our kid, and we are lucky to have you.

Just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate the work you do every day. I know we don`t say it enough, but you`re the best teacher, our children could possibly have. Thanks!

Hi Cikgu Saw,

It is not an exaggeration to say that a great teacher can change a student’s life. There are an endless amount of great teacher stories that attest to the benefits of a strong relationship between an educator and pupil, and you are one of them.

As some of the most influential role models for developing students, you are responsible for more than just academic enrichment. I believe you are a great educator because you connect with your pupils and reach them on multiple levels. You have impacted virtually every aspect of my lives, teaching me the important life lessons that helped me succeed beyond exams and also in life.

It is not always easy to change a student’s life, which is why it takes a great teacher like you to do so. Some just need an extra push while others may be going through something troubling in their personal lives and need someone to talk to, and you are always there.

I have seen you spend your entire career learning the different ways you can change your students’ lives, here are three aspects that are directly making you a great teacher.

You make your classroom an exciting environment for learning which may not be easy, but which will benefit students immeasurably in the long run. Like me.

You work hard to pursue a particular goal. You inspired me to become better. I am so inspired by you that I accomplish amazing things, and that motivation you gave me almost always stays with me. Inspiration can also take many forms, I seen you helping pupils through the academic year and their short-term goals, I have also seen you guided some towards their future career. Years after graduation, as a working professionals myself, I constantly cite a particular teacher in my accomplishments, that is you.

Finally, you have helped many pupils and me to pursue higher education, explore career opportunities and compete in events they might otherwise have not thought themselves able to. I have always look to you as mentors with experience and knowledge.

In short, thank you for making me better... and I hoped the younger generations will have the opportunity like me to meet and learn from you. You have been amazing.

Hi Cikgu Saw,

It has been 8 years since I graduated... and I don’t think it’s often that you get a "thank you" from someone who isn’t a part of your life anymore, but I think that’s where some people get it wrong. You are still a part of my life. Without you, I wouldn’t be who I am today. You have brought something to the table in my life, and you have left a mark. We may not meet anymore, but you are still a part of my life in some way.

It’s people like you who I truly believe come into my life at the moment I need you most. It’s people like you who have created the biggest impact in my life. I like to think that God sends you in when I need your friendship, teachings and your care the most, and once you’ve served your purpose, it’s time to move on. There are certain things you have taught me that I use on people who are still a part of my life.

Without your existence in my life, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t be who I am today. Thank you for all the years of guidance, my success in education, my life and my present. Dear Cikgu Saw,

First of all, thank you for teaching, coaching and assisting my daughter since secondary 2. To me, there is only two things needed to be a great teacher, and you have it. To me, you are an effective teacher because you never stops looking for ways to be more and more capable. Not only that, you are caring, warm and lovable. You know that a child cannot learn unless they know that the teacher cares about him or her.

Even years later, my daughter still remembers you, she told us that she remembers you the most as you are the one who really cared about her among all the teachers she had met. You have helped my daughter to learn as well as enhance the quality of her lives. You provided the most sincerest form of teaching which is listening, caring and loving. You have demonstrated your care and love both implicitly through your body language and explicitly through what you say.


In my opinion, high expectation has nothing to do with getting A's in class, finishing college or making a lot of money. These are products or end results of life. High expectation has to do with attitude, and it is this that gets us the A's in class and helps us to finish college. When significant teacher like you use significant words and actions, you increase the likelihood of impacting positive behaviours to students. This is exactly what happen to my daughter. You have impacted her positively in life.

Thank you for coaching her in achieving 8A's in SPM. You are definitely the most significant person in my daughter's life.

I took Cambridge English CAE in 2014 at Pusat Bimbingan Saw and Cikgu Saw taught me. I obtained Distinction for the exam. As I am unable to thank him personally for helping and teaching me, I would like to take this opportunity to write a review for his teaching excellence. First of all, I would like to thank him for making me falling in love with the subject English.

To me, Cikgu Saw is very special. He is expressive. His ideas would change the monotonous schedule of the teaching and I just love learning from him. Cikgu Saw has innovativeness as he would dare to go off track so that his pupils are on track. Cikgu Saw's innovativeness always introduces new ideas, he is different and he treat each subject in a unique way. He always bring in freshness to the class.

Cikgu Saw is also very interactive. He always empower his students to learn the subject and to interact more to develop their communication skill. By being interactive, Cikgu Saw created opportunities for the students where they would be communicating with each other and to develop their skills in English.

After taking classes from Cikgu Saw, I learned to be different and think more independently. To me, Cikgu Saw is an outstanding teacher because he understood the teacher – student relationship, he has positive qualities like patience, tolerance, and passion for teaching.

As a final year student at University of Sydney, I believe and would dare to review that Cikgu Saw has a deep knowledge and understanding of English language teaching with an advanced blend of theory and practice that makes him a professional Cambridge English teacher in Penang.

For all the parents and students in Penang which would like to improve their English, Cikgu Saw is definitely the teacher you should look for. I strongly recommend him to everyone. Don't judge him as ordinary because he can and always do deliver the best out of everyone. Once again, thank you for making me the best of who I can be.

When my son completed his SPM 8 years ago with flying colours, I was so delighted that I could not sleep for days. Today, he is working as an engineer in INTEL. Till recently, I found out that the real reasons behind his success was not his intelligence, but rather was his tutor, Cikgu Saw. My son told me that Cikgu Saw has several consistent factors that continuously make him a successful tutors, who routinely improve student academic performance and increase students' self-efficacy.

Therefore, I would really like to share to everyone about him because he changes my son's life into a very positive ones.

According to my son, Cikgu Saw is a very successful tutors because he builds strong, personal relationships with his students. Cikgu Saw fill a different role than teachers and parents, therefore puts him in a unique position to support students. I believe that personal relationships are foundational to student success because the more connected a student feels to his or her tutor, the more the tutor creates trust and respect, which is an essential ingredients for students to learn well. Cikgu Saw listens and spends time building a relationship with his or her student, so that he can personalize the learning, incorporate connections to the student's interests, teach to the student's strengths and minimize the student's weaknesses.

To me, Cikgu Saw is a truly successful tutor because he can make learning real, relevant and rigorous. He is an experts in his academic content because he knows the subject's concepts, ideas and problems inside out.

Thank you very much for all the dedication given to my son and other students. Indeed, I am fortunate enough to have sent my son to him. I would like to wish him success. To me, he is a teaching celebrity in Penang. To anyone who is reading my review, Cikgu Saw is someone you should meet and learn from as he is an extraordinary example of a successful tutor.

It has been 5 years since my children completed their SPM examinations. I was happy to be able to write a review for this humble yet great teacher, who most students called him Cikgu Saw.

Penang is result-oriented. We have overbearing emphasis on grades and paper qualifications. Having great good grades will open up more opportunities to their next progression. We are labelled as “kiasu”. But really, the society has low tolerance for mistakes and failures which shaped us to become so risk-averse.

My children has performed very well in their SPM thanks to their great tuition teacher 'Cikgu Saw'. Well he may look ordinary but deep down he is an expert in teaching. Both my children are currently in University of Melbourne thanks to him.

Cikgu Saw is a great tutor because he would spend hours to read through materials from various schools and sources, and sieve out the best content and methods and repackage into a fresh note for students. According to my children, he would plan his lesson and continuously think of different styles of delivering the same concepts according to the varying learning cognition of students. That is not including the time used to mark tuition assignment, giving feedbacks to parents, selecting a personalised test questions for students and time taken to give students counselling on their problems.

Hence, parents like me are very fortunate to have met him and have him to guide both my children. Again I would say again, Cikgu Saw, you are the best and I advised any parents who is reading my review to send their children to him. He is indeed a great teacher.
