Southern Alliance Mining

Southern Alliance Mining is a producer of high-grade iron ore products which are supplied to steel companies. The Chaah Mine, which was established in 2008, is still operational and produces iron ore with unique natural characteristics, such as high specific gravity and viscosity, making it highly sought-after for pipe coating companies in the oil and gas industry’s subsea segment. It also has a low level of impurities, allowing for up to 65% Fe grade iron ore concentrate to be produced. The company has three ongoing exploration projects: Mao’Kil, Chaah Baru and Kota Tinggi. With an approximate monthly production capacity of 60,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrates, Southern Alliance Mining also supplies crushed iron ore to pipe coating companies. When used as a coating for sub-sea pipes, it can help to protect against corrosion.
