Gabongan Pemborong Quarry Sdn Bhd - Kuala Terengganu

GPQ SDN. BHD. or formerly known as Gabongan Pemborong Quarry Sdn. Bhd. is a wholly-owned Bumiputra construction company that was incorporated in 1978. The company is one of the subsidiary companies of Terengganu Incorporated Sdn. Bhd. (Terengganu Inc), which is the main investment arm of the State of Terengganu.
Before the establishment of the company, there was only one local Bumiputra contractor registered with Pusat Khidmat Kontraktor (PKK) in Class ‘A’ and the rest were registered in a lower class. This scenario had seen many local Bumiputra contractors were only involved in small projects and it prompted the State Government to come up with an idea to form the company and be registered with PKK in Class ‘A’ with the participation of local Bumiputra contractors as

The idea from the State Government was proven workable and fruitful when there were many local Bumiputra contractors began to get involved in the big projects obtained by the company. And nowadays, many of them are registered with CIDB in Class G7 (equal to PKK of Class ‘A’) and being recognized as renowned construction companies and involved in various big projects all over the country.
For business expansion, besides being involved in property development the company has also ventured into quarry industry by acquiring 42 acres of granite-rich land for the industry in Kampung Sungai Serai, Bukit Payong, Terengganu. From the quarry operation, the company has produced a wide range of quarry products with the latest product is premix.
Since its inception, the company has been involved in various projects ranging from infrastructure works to high rise buildings which worth more than RM500 million. All those projects indeed speak well for the company’s steadfast commitments in the construction industry.
